I can feel your pain with the hot water tank, the two houses I have lived in, I have had to replace both tanks. Fortunately my experience was not as frustrating as yours. Though in my Town House, the space for the tank is narrow, and a pipe in the way, so the installer had to cut the pipe, move the tank in, and then patch the pipe, so it added to the cost. I did have an experience a few years ago installing a hood fan in my Kitchen, and the costs skyrocketing on that, still wake up at night with nightmares of that ;)
What I find frustrating these days, are all the Hidden costs for everything. There is a the price that you are charged for item or service, but then all these other hidden costs, such as the admin fee you had to pay to get the tank installed. Where does that money go?We have to pay these fee's, but no one ever has to give us any proof of what it actually going towards. To me it is just another money grab. It reminds me a bit of where I live, we have to pay a tax on electronics, to handle the disposal of them. But I can never find a place to dump my used electronics, and if I do find a recycling place that will take them, I have to pay. Seems sad these days that we have to pay these fee's, which provide us nothing, but are required to either get service or the products we need.

Great podcast again Rico. As i'm getting older my dreams tend to have more of a surreal based theme to them. When i was younger man i had some great dreams, mainly to do with being superman, mind you wonder woman crept in a few times but we won't go there ha ha. What i tend to do now is i have a pad and pencil next to my bed and as soon as i wake up (if i remember straight away) i write the dream down. I then use these ideas for sketches for the comedy show or for the films we write. Of course your dreams are from your brain filing away the days information, hence you get bits of reality in the stories or scenes. Try writing your dreams down especially if you wake during the night and see what strange things you have wrote down.

Hi Rico, great podcast. I agree that it was to bad about Heath Ledger, and incidents like this make us realize how important life is. I felt Heath had a bright future ahead of him, so tragic for it to come to an end so fast, and possibly accidently as well.
I glad to hear that you are enjoying the TV show Life. I started watching it at the start of the season, as it had Damien Lewis in it, and I really liked him in Band of Brothers. I like the way he plays Charlie in the show, and like how they set up the show each week, with interesting cases, and his unique way of handeling it. The larger story arc is interesting as well, and adds a bit more depth to the show for me.

Great Podcast Rico. I also enjoyed National Treasure Book of Secrets, thought it was a lot of fun, and really gets me excited for the next Indy Movie.
The stores after christmas can get a bit crazy as well, in Canada, the week after Christmas they have some really big sales, and the electronic stores like Bestbuy open at 6:00 am on the 26th, and have door crasher sales. A lot of stock they actually hold in the back until the 26th.
Agree that people in big vehicles can be some of the worst drivers. Usually when bad weather comes, most of the vehicles ditched are usually guys in 4 wheen drive trucks and SUV's, as they tend to drive to fast for the conditions and do not make any consideration for anyone else.
I like your on the road podcasts, keep them up.

Great Podcast Rico. I liked your thoughts on Christmas, I do find as well that the lead up to Christmas can be a bit overwhelming, with a push for year end at work, and just Christmas and preparing for that. I agree that we need to take time and enjoy the season, as it only comes once a year, and really should be celebrated with family and friends, lots of other things can wait as we have the rest of the year to take care of those. Even though it is not Christmas related, on Sunday I went to a Van Halen concert, and just listening to songs I listened to as a teen and kid brought back a lot of good memories (some song had been over 15 years since I had heard them). I think walking out after, having being able to relive the memories from my younger years was probably the most special thing for me.

Hey Ric

I think the amount of information available throughout the multiple methods of dissemination are pretty much a good thing in general. It's never really bad to have too many choices, even though sometimes you may hear people say that. It just forces us to be a bit more discriminating in how we choose to receive and utilize the information in our worlds. I agree and have found the same thing as you described, and feel that more traditional means of getting information like magazines and newspapers are soon going to be things of the past as the internet and world wide web continues to explode as it has in the past ten years.

I enjoy all your podcasts Ric, and hope you continue to share your thoughts through the attic the way you have been.
