Show # 16: New Computer

Ξ May 30th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

The podcast this time was recorded in my office at work during my lunch break.  A little change of setting from the normal car ride shows I do.  I’m going to try and mix up where I record a bit more from now on.  Sorry it’s been a few weeks since I did one of these again.  The topic this time out is the new computer I built during the last few weeks.  One of the things that has been keeping me kind of busy.  I go over most of the key parts I picked and a little of the whys and whats of building my new machine (oh – I named her “Galactica which I forgot to mention on the podcast).  I decided to go with Vista too and tell you a bit about my experiences with that so far.  But overall the new machine has been running well and I am very happy with the increased performance vs. my old reliable baby.  That’s about it for this time.  Thanks for tuning in again!

Show # 15: New York

Ξ May 1st, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

The show this time is about my recent business trip to New York.  It was a pretty crazy trip.  I recount my delayed flight issues, rain and the crazy EZ-Pass toll road system in the New York area.  This is one place I haven’t visited a lot even though it is fairly close to Michigan where I live.  Lot’s of traffic and a crazy road system – at least where I was going.  Thank goodness for GPS in the rental car.  Sometimes traveling a short distance is more difficult than even going to a far off foreign country.  Well, I hope you get a kick out of the show.  Feel free to comment about some of your travel experiences – especially to the New York state area.  Later….

Show # 14: Home Repair

Ξ April 10th, 2008 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

The podcast this time is about home repairs. Specifically, how I had to get my home water heater replaced last week when it began to leak. I am pretty good at most work and stuff around the house. I really enjoy it too. But plumbing and me have never gotten along very well. So I had to go to Lowe’s and order a new water heater and have their guy install it. This ended up causing me some problems and difficulties. Some about some unusual pricing tactics and also about how it took a couple of trips for the guy to get the job done right. Anyway, all is well now but I think you will enjoy hearing the tale. Hopefully I won’t have to do this all again anytime soon. Enjoy the cast!

Show # 13: Gadget Tech

Ξ March 25th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

This time on the cast I talk about everyday gadgets that I use and enjoy. Another show recorded in my car on my drive home as I discuss some of my most favorite gadgets. I take you through a typical day for me and talk about the little electronic (and some big) devices that make life easier and fun in 2008. Starting with my alarm clock all the way through my home theater that I relax in the evening with. I know I didn’t cover everything – I even forgot to talk about cell phones completely. Although frankly, I’m not a big cell phone user and have only sent a text message on mine like three times. Being a work phone I don’t use it much outside work. But anyway, I do talk about several of my favorites like my iPOD (which seems to be dying and not hold ing a charge) and my HD TIVO. Oh TIVO – I love you so! Hehe! So, I hope you enjoyed this brief look at the things that help me get through my day (most of which didn’t exist until fairly recently). Technology just seems to keep on moving ahead at an amazing pace!

Show # 12: Business

Ξ March 7th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

The show this time out is kind of about business. More specifically, the type of business and work I do. I recorded this one while I was waiting to go into a dinner meeting with the head of a Taiwan company that I have visited a few times. The meeting was hopefully to settle some business issues and just relax and have a good meal. I’m not a big fan of business over dinner. But once in awhile I get sucked into these types of things. I seem to handle it pretty well, which is probably why I get asked to do it again. Maybe I’m too good at it! Hehe! Anyway, I share a little more on what I do to make a living these days and some of the things involved there. Not a lot of great secrets or revelations in this cast. But some might find it interesting. The picture above is where the dinner meeting was at. It’s a nice place but about 45 minutes away from my home. So it was a long day. I also share a story about our dog Kaylee and her recent affinity for TV remote controls. She chewed one up this past week. At least she didn’t eat the batteries or much of it. Just kind of shredded it.  I was able to find a new replacement remote online for us. I think she gets a bit lonely during the day and just was bored.  As always, hope you enjoy the cast and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Show # 11: Dreams

Ξ February 20th, 2008 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

Yes – I’m back folks. After a longer time than I would of liked I’m back with another brief podcast that explores the recesses of my mind. First off, I was sick for a couple of weeks so got kind of behind on things. But I’m feeling good now and had a little time on my drive home today to record a new show for you. This time out I discuss something we all do every night – and that’s dream. I know not everyone has dreams they recall very well, but I’ve always been a pretty active dreamer when I sleep. I’d say about half the time I have some sort of dream that I remember the next morning. Mostly they are nice and fairly harmless dreams. But I have had some nightmares on a rare occasion. I discuss how I used to make myself dream certain things when I was a kid growing up. Later on in life my dreams tended to just be the typical what was on my mind at the time I went to sleep. I’ve had some classic type dreams like flying ones too. I share a few of my more memorable dreams that I have had. Hope you enjoy the podcast and please comment here or email and let me know about your dreams.

Attic Podcast # 10 – “LIFE”

Ξ January 24th, 2008 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

Finally got some time driving home today to record a new, short Attic show. This time out I discuss the recent sad news of the death of actor Heath Ledger. I’d always enjoyed his work and it’s really a shame to lose someone so talented and young. I’m looking forward to seeing one of his final performances as the Joker in the new “Batman” film this coming summer. When things like this happen it make me appreciate life even more. We really have such a short time on this planet we should try and make the most of it and appreciate it every day. I also chat a little about how much I am enjoying the new cop show “Life.” The main character is quirky and fun to watch. He has an interesting Zen like attitude about the world around him which is refreshing. I’ve been catching up with it on NBC’s new site called HULU. Take a look when you get the chance. That’s about it for this time out folks. Hope you enjoyed this show and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Show # 9: New Comic Day!

Ξ January 9th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

On this podcast I have a little adventure out for my lunch break. First, a trip to my favorite coney dog restaurant for a couple of greats coney’s. Then it’s on to my favorite comic shop (voted # 1 in Detroit). I discuss the books I picked up this week and a little on comics in general. Not as many books came out this week in the group I normally buy. Got a couple of new things to check out. The new Marvel “Hulk” book featuring a Red Hulk just came out today with issue # 1 and that looks cool. Never read Hulk much in the past but I thought I’d pick up this new book and jump in. Another new comic being worked on my J. M. Straczynski came out called “The Twelve.” It’s an outer space adventure comic and I’m anxious to read it. I go over a few other books as well that I picked up. Hope you enjoyed this show. I had fun!

Show # 8 – After Xmas

Ξ December 27th, 2007 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

Just a little show in the car on the road today as I do some post Christmas errands. I chat about the new movie “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” that I saw today with my friend Mark. I liked it quite a bit. These are a fun series of movies. Then I talk a little about some Christmas things I received and the fun of spending holiday gift cards. I wrap up the show at the end with how after Christmas is sort of like the relaxing time after a wedding at a reception. The tough part is over and now we can all relax. Oh and email me your New Year’s resolutions – if you do that sort of thing. Until next time, enjoy the rest of 2007!

Outro – “Baby, it’s Cold Outside” – by Leon Redbone & Zooey Daschanel

Attic of my Mind # 7: Snow

Ξ December 18th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Podcasts |

Just put up a little show I recorded this afternoon in the car on the way to the dentist. I chat about all the snow we recently got here in Michigan and how bad the city of Detroit ignores the roads. They seem to think cars are snow plows! It was pretty bad yesterday morning on the way to work. I also comment a little bit on global warming and my thoughts on that. Nothing too heavy but I think you might find it interesting. Getting closer to Christmas now and I hope to do another “Attic” show on or around the big day! Take care until then!

Songs on this show:

Intro – “Blind” – by Mega Bass

Outro – “The Start of Something” – by Voxtrot
